Teresa Green – Biography

Teresa Green are a unique range of printed textiles designed and hand printed by Teresa Cole.

Teresa Cole established Teresa Green in 2000 after graduating in printed textiles from Loughborough University School of Art and Design.

In 2001 Teresa received a setting up grant from the Crafts Council and support from the Princes Trust to set up studio in an old stable block in the village of Barrow Upon Soar in Leicestershire, I have now moved to Devon and found a beautiful new workshop on the Perridge Estate nestled in 100 acres of woodland.

I source all our fabrics from within the UK, our linen comes from Ireland and our inks are all water based.

The integrity of natural materials is important to her. She does not even wear any synthetics.

She have exhibited nationally and internationally over the past 10 years, including attending the New York International Gift Fair, Maison et Objet Paris and undertaking a research trip to Japan.

The importance of the range is having a function is also key- the utilitarian, functionality and the design play equal roles.

Teresa has a passion for antique kitchenallia – especially kitchen scales and ladle shaped spoons. Both grandpas have also fed my imagination with crammed sheds full of old garden objects and treasure – I have an obsession for elongated
watering cans and apple ladders!

The items are a canvas for the prints, and are designed around the shape and layout of each object.

I hope you will enjoy using Teresa’s items and the sense of history and time that will impart itself upon each
product as the years go by.
